The missions of Surfrider Foundation

Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of oceans, waves, coastlines, and water quality. Born from the surfing community, it now acts internationally to preserve marine and coastal environments, essential for biodiversity and the practice of board sports.

Its main missions are based on three strong pillars.
Firstly, the protection of the marine and coastal environment, through concrete actions against pollution, beach preservation, the fight against plastic waste, and the defense of fragile ecosystems.
Secondly, awareness and education, by informing the general public, practitioners, and younger generations about environmental issues related to the ocean and water.
Finally, citizen action and advocacy, by mobilizing volunteers and partners to evolve practices, influence public decisions, and advocate for more environmentally friendly policies.

Through field operations such as beach cleanups, awareness campaigns, and legal actions, Surfrider Foundation works daily for a cleaner, healthier, and accessible ocean for all. Its commitment aims to protect today what makes the oceans so rich, so that future generations can continue to enjoy them.
